Procurement Specialist
Akkodis is seeking a Procurement Specialist in Pharmaceutical domain for a 6 months contract position with a client in Alameda CA.
Pay Range: $40/hr. – $44/hr. (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)
The Sr. Sourcing Specialist will be a part of the Category Management and Sourcing team, within the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (SS&P) department. This individual will be a temporary resource augmentation to support Category Leaders and partner with Category Managers in their assigned category(ies) to perform activities related to purchasing of materials, equipment, and/or services.
The SS&P department oversees outsourcing using a category-based method. Categories are established by consolidating similar services and areas of expenditure across the company’s enterprise, including Discovery, Development, Clinical, General and Administrative, Information Technology, Commercial, and other areas. The Senior Sourcing Specialist will support various categories as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage or support as assigned, end-to-end review of SOW, budget, and payment schedule, and associated contract development and execution workflow leveraging the Legal Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system, Agiloft.
- Help prepare Purchase Requisitions
- Liaise with company’s Legal department, Business Owners to ensure vendor contract terms and conditions address all business needs and requirements.
- Assist with gathering market intelligence and trends to support category managers/leaders
- Support category team in vendor evaluation activities (RFIs and RFPs)
- Analyzes information and communicates effectively
- Vendor capability presentations, software demonstrations, and bid defense meetings
- Schedule these types of meetings with the internal team and the vendor
- Support meetings with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Provide excellent order follow-up and communication to requestors.
- Rectify accounts payable and receiving discrepancies when necessary.
- Support the quarterly vendor accrual and forecasting process
- Vendor confirmations
- Embedded lease review
- Utilize experience and expertise to assist with other procurement projects as required
Education:
- BS/BA degree in related discipline and five (5) years of related experience; or,
- Master’s degree in related discipline three (3) years of related experience; or,
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of and experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry(ies) preferred.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a strong work ethic required.
- Must possess a high degree of integrity and the ability to accept responsibility for work activities and projects and see them through to completion.
- Team player who isn’t afraid to reach out to and collaborate with internal customers.
- Exhibits high attention to detail, thoroughness and accuracy, especially in the requisition to order process and other work within the ERP system.
- Strong analytical and data management skills.
- Applies experience with purchasing technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to a variety of buying tasks.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in dealing with internal customers and external suppliers.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks in support of departmental and organizational goals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications.
- Experience with an ERP and purchasing system required. SAP software proficiency preferred.
- Familiarity with market intelligence and vendor risk management tools.
- Works with a variety of internal customers and outside suppliers to help meet the company objectives with a sense of urgency.
- Adheres to a variety of cross-functional procedures and requirements (Legal, Compliance, Accounting, SOX, Tax, etc.)
