Compass Self-Storage is seeking a motivated, high-performing sales professional to join our call center team. We are looking to fill full and part-time positions. In this role, you will engage with customers who are actively seeking storage solutions, guide them through the rental process, and convert inquiries into revenue-generating move-ins. Success in this role requires strong objection handling, empathy, multitasking, and a results-driven mindset aligned with company KPIs.

Key Responsibilities (Sales & KPI Focus)

  • · Handle inbound calls from customers actively searching for storage solutions, including Inquiry and Direct Move-In (DMI) opportunities
  • · Convert customer inquiries into rentals by effectively communicating product value and matching solutions to customer needs
  • · Maintain strong focus on achieving and exceeding conversion goals, DMI targets, and revenue metrics
  • · Proactively promote available units, pricing, and features to maximize occupancy and sales performance
  • · Recognize that customers are contacting us with intent and maintain urgency to secure the sale
  • · Identify sales opportunities across all call types, even when the original intent is not to rent a unit
  • · Support after-hours sales efforts and ensure no opportunity is missed to capture business

Customer Experience & Service Excellence

  • · Deliver world-class customer service on every interaction, building trust and rapport quickly
  • · Demonstrate empathy and understanding, recognizing many customers are going through stressful or transitional situations
  • · Use a need-based sales approach to educate and guide customers toward the right solution
  • · Provide clear, confident explanations of the storage process, pricing, and next steps
  • · Ensure a seamless and positive experience from initial inquiry through move-in

Operational & Communication Responsibilities

  • · Multitask efficiently across phone systems, software platforms, and customer communications in a fast-paced environment
  • · Think quickly and respond effectively to customer objections, concerns, and changing needs in real time
  • · Accurately compose and send professional emails to customers and internal teams when required.
  • · Facilitate smooth move-ins by ensuring all necessary information is communicated clearly and promptly
  • · Maintain attention to detail while managing a high volume of calls and customer interactions

Required Skills & Competencies

  • · Strong sales skills with proven ability to handle objections and close sales
  • · Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • · Ability to build rapport quickly and demonstrate genuine empathy
  • · Strong multitasking and time management skills in a call center environment
  • · Quick thinker with the ability to adapt and problem-solve under pressure
  • · Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and driven to meet performance metrics

Preferred Experience

  • · Call center, inbound sales, or customer service experience
  • · Experience working with KPIs such as conversion rates, call volume, and revenue generation
  • · Background in self-storage, retail sales, or service-based industries preferred

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 6 months experience in a sales
  • Dependable, goal oriented and self-motivated
  • Organized, detailed and ability to multi task
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Customer focused
  • Results Oriented (sets and achieves goals)
  • Team Oriented (works well in a group to achieve success)
  • Successful completion of all assessments, background checks and drug screenings
  • Ability to work from home for the majority of the work day
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (optional)
  • MS Office application experience preferred
  • HS Diploma or GED

  • Must have access to a quiet/private working environment that is free of distractions and external background noise
  • Reliable internet connection with minimum capabilities of 10mbps upload, 40mbps download
  • All necessary equipment will be provided
