Earth-Wise Horticultural Services is an ISA-certified, TCIA-member arborist company trusted by property managers and homeowners across Colorado’s high country. Since 1994, our certified crews have delivered technical tree care on some of the region’s most prestigious residential and commercial properties. We work where precision, professionalism, and discretion matter. We’re hiring a Tree Climber who operates at that standard.

CLIMBING ARBORIST PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform technical tree climbing using modern rope systems, saddles, harnesses, and safety protocols
• Conduct crown pruning, thinning, raising, and reduction to ANSI A300 standards
• Execute tree removals including sectional dismantling and complex rigging
• Install and maintain cabling and bracing systems for structural support
• Assess tree health and structural integrity; provide professional evaluation and recommendations
• Operate chainsaws, chippers, rigging equipment, and other specialized tools with precision
• Support ground crew with rigging, equipment staging, and site management
• Maintain exemplary safety standards and professional conduct on every job
• Communicate clearly and professionally with crew leaders and clients

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Extended rope climbing ability using harnesses and modern climbing equipment
• Regularly lift, carry, and move 50–75 pounds
• Comfortable working at heights of 20–100+ feet
• Work safely in Colorado’s variable mountain weather: heat, cold, snow, and wind
• Flexibility to bend, twist, reach, and perform sustained repetitive motions
• Full-day stamina for demanding physical labor

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 3 years of professional tree climbing experience preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in modern climbing and rigging techniques
• Proficient chainsaw operator with safe handling practices
• Sound judgment in the canopy — you read trees, not just cut them
• Professional demeanor and client-facing skills; comfort working on high-end properties
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required)
• ISA Certification highly valued; not required
• Proven ability to work as part of a coordinated crew
• Strong trainees with solid climbing foundation, genuine commitment to mastery, and professional maturity will be considered

• $30-$50/hr. depending on experience

POSITION DETAILS

• Location: Glenwood Springs, Colorado (serving Roaring Fork and Vail Valleys)
• Schedule: Full-time, 40–50 hours per week
• Work environment: In-person, outdoor-based
