Dental Records Administrator
Job Summary
Dr. Massi Dental Office is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Remote Dental Records Administrator to manage, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of patient records in a secure digital environment. This role is essential in supporting clinical and administrative teams by ensuring records are complete, compliant, and easily accessible.
The ideal candidate has experience in dental or medical records management, strong attention to detail, and a clear understanding of patient confidentiality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize electronic dental records, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Review patient files for missing or inconsistent information and resolve discrepancies
- Process and manage incoming and outgoing patient records requests
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other applicable healthcare privacy regulations
- Update patient information, treatment history, and documentation in practice management systems
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure timely and accurate documentation
- Handle digital filing, scanning, indexing, and archiving of patient records
- Assist with insurance documentation and record verification as needed
- Support audits by preparing and retrieving requested documentation
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient and clinic information
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dental, medical records, or healthcare administration
- Familiarity with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental)
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy standards
- Excellent organizational and data management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Health Information Management or Medical Records (preferred but not required)
- Experience with insurance verification or billing documentation
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Experience supporting audits or compliance reviews
Pay: $49,580.03 – $59,709.28 per year
