Job Title: Network Engineer

Employment Type: W2 Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, manage, and support network infrastructure across our enterprise. The role involves maintaining high network availability, ensuring security, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN networks.

  • Install, configure, and support network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers).

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum uptime.

  • Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access controls.

  • Conduct regular network capacity planning, optimization, and upgrades.

  • Collaborate with system administrators, security teams, and application teams for seamless operations.

  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and configuration standards.

  • Provide technical support for escalated network issues and assist in root cause analysis.

  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 12 years of experience in network engineering or administration.

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing/switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment.

  • Proficiency in firewall configuration (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.).

  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark, etc.).

  • Good understanding of network security principles.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network , or JNCIP.

  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).

  • Knowledge of VoIP, SD-WAN, or network automation tools (Python, Ansible).
