Dry Eye Technician
Position Summary
The Dry Eye Technician is responsible for supporting and delivering advanced dry eye and ocular aesthetic treatments while providing an exceptional patient experience. This role combines clinical treatment delivery, patient education, case acceptance support, and operational efficiency.
This team member plays a critical role in expanding Complete Eye Care’s specialty services, improving patient outcomes, and supporting revenue growth through effective treatment delivery and patient engagement.
Reporting Structure
Reports To: Chief Clinic Manager
Clinical Oversight: Doctors and Clinical Leadership Team
Works Closely With:
- Patient Care Team
- Optical Team
- Virtual Assistants
- Clinical Technicians
- Research Team (when applicable)
Primary Responsibilities
Clinical Treatment Delivery
Perform and assist with dry eye services including but not limited to:
- Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT), TriLift, Microneedling procedures, LipiFlow, MiboFlo, Rinsada, ZEST, etc
- Ocular surface preparation and post-treatment care
- Educating and recommending supporting products for Dry Eye including skin care
- Imaging and diagnostic testing related to dry eye care
- Room preparation and equipment calibration
Ensure all treatments are completed according to:
- Clinic protocols
- Manufacturer guidelines
- Provider treatment plans
- Patient safety and comfort standards
Patient Education & Case Acceptance
- Educate patients on dry eye disease treatment options
- Explain treatment plans, expectations, and home care
- Reinforce doctor recommendations
- Support patient decision-making and treatment acceptance
- Identify opportunities to enhance treatment outcomes with adjunct therapies
- Maintain strong follow-up communication to improve compliance and retention
Patient Experience
- Deliver warm, confident, and professional patient interactions
- Set clear expectations for treatments and recovery
- Monitor patient comfort and response during procedures
- Assist in building long-term patient relationships and loyalty
Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
- Maintain treatment schedules and ensure appointment efficiency
- Complete accurate documentation in EHR
- Prepare consent forms and treatment documentation
- Manage treatment inventory and supply ordering
- Maintain treatment rooms and equipment logs
- Complete assigned administrative tasks proactively
- Review upcoming schedules and prepare treatment plans in advance
Team Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate schedule changes or treatment additions to Patient Care Team
- Use tasks and internal messaging systems to communicate with providers
- Support clinic flow and assist with patient delays when needed
- Participate in team meetings and training initiatives
Performance Expectations
The Dry Eye Technician is expected to:

Required Qualifications
- Prior clinical or aesthetic treatment experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable discussing treatment plans and financial investment with patients
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in ophthalmic or optometric clinical settings
- Experience with dry eye treatments or aesthetic procedures
- Sales or patient conversion experience
- Certification or training in IPL, microneedling, or facial aesthetics
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to assist with patient positioning
- Ability to handle clinical equipment and supplies

Pay: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour
