About The Role We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our Phantom Works Infrared Management Aid (IRMA) team based in Berkeley, MO. This role is pivotal in developing innovative infrared and mission planning software solutions supporting Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS). The successful candidate will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and integration, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-impact projects that leverage emerging technologies and contribute to national security initiatives. Collaboration, adaptability, and a passion for problem-solving are essential qualities for success in this position.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science, physics, data science, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in software development. Candidates must have the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance and meet the criteria for Special Access Programs. Proficiency in C programming, multi-threaded development, and Agile methodologies is required. Preferred qualifications include active security clearances, real-time software experience, knowledge of GPU architectures, and familiarity with CUDA C/C . Advanced degrees and experience with performance optimization, MATLAB integration, and modern development tools like Git, Visual Studio, and Jira will be advantageous. A strong foundation in embedded systems, mission planning, or infrared technology is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and integrate infrared and mission planning software applications for embedded and simulated environments, ensuring compliance with safety, industry, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with project leads, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Manage multiple parallel tasks efficiently within a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, demonstrating autonomy and initiative.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative team culture.
- Create detailed use case scenarios derived from software requirements to ensure comprehensive understanding and implementation.
- Contribute to continuous process improvements, leveraging feedback and lessons learned to enhance development workflows and product quality.
- Support troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning efforts to optimize software functionality and reliability.
- Stay current with technological advancements in infrared systems, GPU computing, and software development best practices.
