About The Role We are seeking a dependable and proactive IT Technician to join our team in supporting our Houston office, shop locations, and various job sites. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who are eager to develop their technical skills and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving basic IT issues, setting up equipment, and providing on-site support across multiple locations. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in diverse settings, including office environments, industrial shops, and active job sites, requiring both technical expertise and physical mobility.
Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess foundational IT knowledge, including familiarity with Windows operating systems, hardware components, and Microsoft 365 applications. A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel locally within Houston and surrounding areas are essential. Candidates should demonstrate dependability, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn new skills. Physical capability to lift and move equipment is necessary, along with good communication skills to effectively assist users and follow instructions. While not mandatory, certifications such as CompTIA A+ or previous experience in IT support or shop environments will be considered advantageous.
Responsibilities The IT Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure smooth technology operations across all locations. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving basic computer and peripheral issues such as desktops, laptops, and printers. The technician will respond to IT support tickets, providing timely assistance to end-users. Setting up new computers, devices, and network equipment will be a regular part of the role. The technician will also assist in diagnosing network connectivity problems and supporting shop systems, including workstations and tool controllers. Acting as “remote hands” for senior IT staff or external vendors, the technician will facilitate on-site repairs and installations. Additionally, responsibilities include onboarding new employees with equipment and account setup, managing IT asset inventory, and traveling to job sites as needed to provide on-the-ground support.
