About The Role The HR Services Specialist role at Iowa Bankers Insurance & Services, Inc. is a pivotal position that involves providing comprehensive human resources support to the Iowa Bankers organization and its member banks. Working under general supervision, the incumbent will manage payroll processing, benefits administration, and various HR functions tailored to the needs of banking institutions. The role requires proactive communication with bank personnel to offer guidance on HR policies, regulatory compliance, and best practices. Additionally, the specialist will assist with special HR projects, contribute to process improvements, and support the organization’s commitment to delivering high-quality HR services. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Human Resources or a related field. A minimum of three years of experience in a Human Resources role is required, with at least three years of payroll processing experience. Prior experience working within a banking environment is highly advantageous. Proficiency in managing HRIS systems, particularly Paylocity, is preferred, along with strong skills in Microsoft Office applications. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach, critical thinking abilities, and a solid understanding of HR laws and regulations. Previous recruiting experience is a plus. Certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP are preferred but not mandatory, reflecting a commitment to professional development and expertise in HR practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and inquiries.
- Respond promptly to HR-related inquiries from personnel at member banks, providing guidance and support on various HR issues.
- Assist with the implementation and management of HR policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives.
- Support the onboarding and offboarding processes for bank employees, ensuring smooth transitions.
- Participate in special HR projects, including process improvements and strategic initiatives.
- Proactively communicate regulatory updates and changes affecting HR functions to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and confidential HR records and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals and enhance HR service delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall HR and organizational objectives.
