Senior Cloud FinOps Analyst
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Cloud FinOps Analyst to join our team and play a critical role in tracking, optimizing, and managing cloud spend and savings. This position will reside within the Cloud Operations team and will provide reporting and analytics to senior leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud-based services, cost management tools, and the ability to identify inefficiencies and execute changes to address them. Responsibilities:
- Monitor cloud spend and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Plan and execute changes to address cost-saving opportunities.
- Build and create dashboards to provide insights on costs by services, applications, owners, verticals, or components.
- Generate monthly reports and maintain KPIs for cloud costs.
- Analyze reservation coverage and assist with procurement.
- Collaborate with Application Owners, Cloud Engineering, and Cloud Architects to review, track, and forecast cloud costs.
- Work with Finance and Technology teams on cost initiatives, build cost models, and assist with budget alignment.
- Track cloud costs from project inception to go-live, ongoing operations, and retirement.
- Support FinOps tooling, processes, and methodologies for effective cloud cost management.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to other team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in cloud cost management and tools such as Azure, AWS, or CloudHealth.
- Strong understanding of cloud-based services usage, structure, discounts, and pricing.
- Proficiency in creating visualization dashboards using PowerBI.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to provide actionable insights.
- Experience with PowerShell or relevant certification.
- FinOps Cloud certification is desired.
- Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
