About this Job This vacancy is a rover position for the Office of Motor Vehicles, Region 5, and is domiciled in Livingston, LA. Travel to the following parishes may be required: East Feliciana, Livingston, Orleans, Pointe Coupee, St. Bernard, St. Helena, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Washington, and West Feliciana. The incumbent of this position performs specialized rover functions by traveling and working in various motor vehicle field offices during personnel shortages and, in doing so, issues drivers’ licenses, identification cards, license plates, and title registrations; reinstates driving and vehicle registration privileges.Minimum Qualifications Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent plus three years of experience or training in any field.EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
May be required to possess a current Louisiana driver’s license at the time of appointment.Job Specification The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found .Job Duties and Other InformationJob Duties: Responsible for the compiling of statistics for daily, weekly and monthly reports of productions, inventories, sales of inspection stickers, and Risk Management reports. These reports are submitted to the Motor Vehicle Region Manager/Field.Responsible for the daily deposits of all funds collected, verifying accuracy of supporting reports and the physical bank deposit.Orders all supplies including, but not limited to, license plates, camera supplies, forms and janitorial supplies.Ascertains the accuracy of plates and completes an affidavit for any missing.Maintains a complete inventory on a daily basis to ensure adequate supplies are on hand to meet the needs of the office.Responsible for maintaining all office equipment and vehicles owned by the Office of Motor Vehicles. This involves personal contact with the local State Police Troop to have proper maintenance performed on the assigned State vehicle. Also, involves contact with repair services, data processing center and utilities repair services. Incumbent is responsible for Risk Management requirements and compliance within their office or Region. Additionally, this position is required to be in compliance at all times with the guidelines of maintaining a clean and safe working environment.Maintains good public relations with the general public, public officials, lending institutions, auto dealers, notaries, Public Tag Agents, etc. in order to provide efficient and effective service.Incumbent is responsible for promoting a positive image as a representative of the Office of Motor Vehicles/Field.Position-Specific Details: **THIS PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITY IS LIMITED TO PERMANENT CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES OF THE LOUISIANA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, OFFICE OF MOTOR VEHICLES**Appointment Type: This position will be filled as a promotional classified position.
