Senior Software Engineer – Systems Design

Requirements

Must have:

– Bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related field – 5 years of experience in requirements management and decomposition – 5 years of experience in software integration, testing, validation, and verification – 5 years of experience in test automation and scripting – Familiarity with engineering tools like DOORS, MBSE, and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence – Strong analytical, systems thinking, and problem-solving skills – Experience with mission systems, avionics, embedded systems, or similar defense/space programs – Knowledge of certification and compliance frameworks (FAA, DoD, NASA, etc.) – Experience with cloud, container, and CI/CD test infrastructure like Docker/Kubernetes and AWS – Advanced degree in Systems Engineering or a related field is preferred

Responsibilities:

• Review, develop, document, and maintain system requirements throughout the lifecycle – Define testing strategies, plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria for various testing levels – Design and conduct verification and validation activities including functional and performance tests – Analyze test outcomes and conduct root cause analyses to recommend improvements – Collaborate across engineering teams, including software developers and test engineers, to ensure functionality – Lead the integration of hardware, software, and mission systems in secure environments – Apply DevSecOps practices to enhance integration and testing processes – Set up and maintain secure test environments using cloud-native resources – Utilize model-based systems engineering and requirements management tools for design support – Contribute to risk management and report on technical readiness – Promote continuous improvement in integration and test processes to enhance efficiency – Document integration outcomes and testing findings for reviews and customer deliverables – Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects when applicable
