Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven Vice President of Asset Management to oversee a portfolio of high-quality multifamily properties. This position plays a critical role in shaping and executing portfolio strategy, optimizing asset performance, and driving long-term value for investors.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, strong financial acumen, and hands-on leadership. You will serve as a key liaison between property operations, development, finance, and senior executives—turning data-driven insights into measurable results.
Primary Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the financial and operational performance of a diverse portfolio of multifamily assets.
- Develop and execute asset-level strategies to maximize cash flow, asset value, and investor returns.
- Monitor property performance against budgets, underwriting assumptions, and market benchmarks; provide actionable recommendations to improve outcomes.
- Lead annual business planning, budgeting, and reforecasting processes.
- Evaluate capital projects, redevelopment opportunities, and asset repositioning initiatives.
- Support investment decisions, including refinancing, hold/sell analyses, and capital allocation strategies.
- Partner with internal teams and third-party operators to enhance property operations and drive efficiency.
- Prepare and deliver reporting packages and presentations for senior leadership and investors.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing asset management team, setting clear objectives and fostering professional development.
- Stay informed on relevant market trends, economic drivers, and regulatory considerations impacting the multifamily housing sector.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: 8–12 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in asset management for institutional-quality multifamily or mixed-use properties.
- Expertise: Strong understanding of multifamily real estate operations, capital planning, and financial performance analysis.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and scale a team.
- Mindset: Analytical, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented; thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, or a related field required; MBA or relevant certification preferred.
