This position contributes to Starbucks success by analyzing complex data and market industry information from multiple sources to develop strategic sourcing recommendations. Develops new ways to analyze sources for information and decision making. Conducts opportunity assessments, benchmarking, cost modeling and root cause analysis to develop sourcing recommendations. Collaborates effectively internally and with suppliers to gather data and develop analytical insights

As a sourcing analyst, you will…

Support the development of sourcing strategy by identifying and applying knowledge of key industry players, competitors and market dynamics to develop market analysis

Integrate and analyze complex data and market industry information from multiple sources to develop strategic sourcing recommendations

Proficiently utilize multiple sources for data and insights

Conduct opportunity assessments, benchmarking, cost modeling and root cause analysis to develop sourcing recommendations.

Collaborate effectively with suppliers, third parties and potential suppliers to gather data, develop analytical insights, and make sourcing recommendations

Assist in developing supplier assessments, score cards and other analytics to enable the team to effectively manage supplier performance

Assist in developing information for negotiation strategies

Assist in managing components of cross-functional projects

Develop competency in program and project management tools and techniques.

Effectively and independently manage multiple projects and deadlines
-
Lead across peer groups and demonstrate leadership, including cross-functional manager and senior manager levels.

Operate within peer group and leadership infrastructure to ensure that top quality data and recommendations are developed

Working knowledge of market analysis, sourcing category strategy, supplier relationship management ‘should-cost’ models, request for quotation, request for proposal processes and negotiations

Knowledge of critical sourcing, procurement and legal requirements and contracting best practices

Knowledge of business ethics and Starbucks Responsible Sourcing Requirements

Ability to lead and influence peer groups on difficult complex strategy and negotiation recommendations

Exceptional communication both written and oral

Knowledge of Excel, SAP, Ariba, Oracle, BI Apps, charting programs, PowerPoint, and others

2 years – Analytical, planning, procurement, supply chain or other relevant experience

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
