Position:Supply Chain Manager

Location:Clinton Township, MI

Shift:1st Shift, 8:00am-5:00pm

Position Summary:

The Supply Chain/Purchasing Manager is responsible for coordinating and optimizing all supply chain and purchasing activities—including supplier management, procurement, inventory control, distribution, material handling, and production scheduling. This role collaborates across departments, manages resources, oversees supply chain performance, and drives continuous improvement to support operational efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction. The position also ensures adherence to company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Management

  • Coordinate, organize, and oversee activities related to purchasing, distribution, warehouse operations, material handling, and production scheduling.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and maintain resources needed for an effective supply chain.
  • Develop and maintain inventory levels across all plants to support production needs.
  • Maintain required quantities of materials and supplies to optimize production flow.
  • Analyze current inventories, processes, and procedures; recommend improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Establish and track performance metrics for evaluating supply chain effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement policies that improve efficiency, quality, and safety across the supply chain.
  • Assess material handling equipment and staffing needs; recommend improvements to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials. Ensure adherence to quality, environmental, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Understand and implement core values in daily work habits.

Purchasing Management

  • Oversee the full procurement cycle, including sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply, competitive pricing, and high-quality materials.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers, vendors, and shipping companies.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to quality, delivery, or cost.
  • Evaluate and qualify new suppliers to support business needs and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Review purchase requisitions and ensure timely issuance of purchase orders.
  • Analyze market trends, material cost fluctuations, and supply risks to support budgeting and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure purchased materials meet specifications and production requirements.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and process improvements

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or related field.
  • Experience in inventory control, production, manufacturing, and scheduling.
  • Experience in purchasing, supplier management, or procurement leadership
  • Experience with PLEX ERP software is a plus.
  • 5+ years’ experience working in a machining/manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of AIAG standards.
