Fort Mill, SC (Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite, 2 Days Remote)
We re seeking a highly experienced DataPower Engineer to join our team in Fort Mill, SC . This is a Contract-to-Hire role for professionals who are passionate about secure integrations, high-performance API management, and enterprise-scale solutions.
Note: Only candidates who can work onsite 3 days a week and are s will be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, design, develop, and maintain DataPower (IDG/X2) appliances.
- Implement security integrations (AAA, OAuth, SAML, JWT, Kerberos, Encryption/Decryption, WS-Security).
- Integrate DataPower with WMQ and Tibco EMS for secure synchronoasynchronous messaging.
- Perform appliance initialization, network configuration, firmware, and license upgrades.
- Manage and monitor environments using DataPower Ops Dashboard (DPOD).
- Deploy DataPower in Containers/Kubernetes environments.
- Automate SSL certificate deployment and password alias mapping.
- Develop and troubleshoot API orchestration, mediation, and protocol bindings.
- Debug and tune performance for services/APIs.
- Handle message translations (JSON SOAP).
- Work with WSDL, XML, XSLT, JSON, XPath, and Gateway scripts.
- Drive DevOps automation (Octopus, TeamCity, Ansible) for deployments.
- Execute SOMA/CLI automations and Disaster Recovery procedures.
- Maintain design documents, artifacts, and task lists.
- Provide frontline troubleshooting, RCA, and integration recommendations.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in DataPower configuration, administration, and development.
- Strong knowledge of security enforcement and API gateway principles.
- Hands-on with containers, Kubernetes, SSL cert management, and DevOps automation.
- Expertise in integration patterns, performance tuning, and debugging.
- Strong verbal and written communication with ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with F5 Load Balancers and WebSphere MQ clusters.
- Knowledge of CI/CD automation (TeamCity, Octopus, etc.).
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
- XML technologies expertise (XSD, XSLT, DTD ) and parsers (SAX, DOM, JAXB, XML Beans)
