Mainframe Software Engineer

Requirements

Must have:

– I have 5-8 years of practical experience in Mainframe environments. – I possess hands-on proficiency with COBOL, JCL, and CICS in enterprise-grade settings. – I hold a strong comprehension of DB2 for relational database management and SQL queries. – I have demonstrated the capability to troubleshoot and enhance batch and transactional processes. – I am familiar with Agile methodologies and collaboration tools such as Jira, Rally, or RTC. – I have experience with version control systems like Git or Bitbucket. – I am knowledgeable about CI/CD tools such as Jenkins. – I have the ability to contribute to modernization initiatives, including API integration and cloud migration. – I am comfortable participating in daily scrum meetings and coordinating with business stakeholders. – I possess skills in managing offshore communications and providing clear status updates. – I have an understanding of healthcare systems, workflows, or data structures. – I can translate technical solutions into the business impact within a healthcare context. – I possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. – I am capable of working both independently and collaboratively across diverse teams. – I have strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

In this role, I will support a large and exciting initiative for a Fortune 10 healthcare client as a Mainframe Developer. I will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications within a dynamic Agile environment. I will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, offshore teams, and cross-functional partners to ensure smooth delivery and effective communication throughout all phases of development.

I am offering a long-term contract opportunity with a hybrid work model located in Hartford, Connecticut. The job type is full-time contract, with a salary range between $96,441.09 and $116,144.12 per year. Additionally, I provide benefits including dental, health, and vision insurance.
