Network Infrastructure Engineer
Requirements
Must have:
We prefer applicants who hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and have at least eleven (11) years of relevant experience in the following areas: – Participate as a member of a network engineering team to provide Transport services for a prominent IT infrastructure initiative. – Design and engineering of MPLS/BGP transport networks. – Demonstrate self-motivation and the capability to lead Service Provider Architecture solutions while mentoring junior network engineers. – Design and implement core and edge technologies for Service Providers. – Possess expert-level experience with network routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and ISIS. – Have a comprehensive understanding of contemporary Service Provider architecture solutions. – Translate customer requirements into enterprise/service provider network solutions. – Engineer a Service Provider network that integrates with other service providers. – Develop and negotiate IP peering agreements between service providers. – Perform upgrades and maintain network operations at a Tier 4 support level. – Experience with various router operating systems, including IOS-XE, IOS-XR, and JUNOS. – Familiarity with multi-vendor solutions (Cisco, Juniper, etc.).

In this role, you will be part of a team that supports a significant government customer through advanced technology initiatives. Your major responsibilities will include: – Collaborating on the delivery of Transport services for a large-scale IT project. – Leading design efforts for MPLS/BGP transport networks and service provider architectures. – Mentoring junior engineers and influencing the architecture of network solutions. – Implementing and maintaining core service provider technologies. – Communicating effectively with customers to understand their requirements and translating them into actionable network designs. – Overseeing the integration of a Service Provider network with existing infrastructures. – Engaging in the negotiation of IP peering agreements. – Conducting upgrades and routine maintenance to ensure optimal network performance.

Our compensation for this full-time position ranges from $146,670 to $249,330, influenced by various factors such as business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications.
