Distribution Manager

Direct Hire $100,000 – $130,000

Monday — Friday 8:00am — 5:00pm

Onsite Columbus, Ohio

Up to 20% Travel required

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for operation functions of the Columbus DC and the branches
  • Develop standard operating procedures for all operation functions including receiving, picking, shipping, packaging, kitting, etc.
  • Assess each individual at the Columbus DC and the branches and recommend any training that is needed
  • Develop key performance metrics for productivity, service, cost and accuracy
  • Collaborate with suppliers and customers to optimize receiving and shipping process
  • Implement relevant technologies including barcoding, for receiving, picking and shipping
  • Develop continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN / Six Sigma
  • Develop an annual operating plan to meet financial and performance goals
  • Lead employee development to maximize morale and minimize employee turnover
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory through cycle count/physical inventory processes
  • Build a strong working relationship with location managers in a way that promotes cooperation and communication in the effort to service our customers and improve DC and Branch inventory performance
  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Who we’re looking for:

  • College degree BA/BS from an accredited institution with concentration in a business related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in operations including logistics, supply chain, and warehouse management
  • Automotive aftermarket experience preferred
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience
  • Experience with setting up systems, bar-coding, processes, and functions at distribution facilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter — ability to initiate and execute with limited assistance
  • Effective writing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Assertive, analytical problem solver with a can do attitude
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • ERP software experience, WMS experience
