About The Role We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and operationalizing data pipelines to ensure the seamless availability of data for reports and advanced analytics. Your expertise will facilitate efficient data ingestion, transformation, validation, and pipeline optimization. You will collaborate closely with DevSecOps engineers during continuous integration and deployment processes to maintain a robust data environment. The ideal candidate will design and implement standardized data management procedures, develop high-performance data structures, and maintain real-time processing applications to support business intelligence initiatives. Your efforts will directly influence the quality, reliability, and accessibility of data across Centene’s systems, enabling data-driven decision-making at every level of the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business field such as statistics, mathematics, engineering, or computer science.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Proven experience with ETL processes, SQL, and data warehousing solutions.
- Familiarity with Snowflake or similar cloud-based data platforms.
- Strong understanding of data pipeline design, data validation, and quality assurance.
- Knowledge of programming languages and tools used for architecture development and automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize data processes for performance and reliability.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop, operationalize, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and distribution of data.
- Design and implement standardized procedures for data staging, ingestion, preparation, provisioning, and destruction.
- Create and manage high-volume, high-performance data structures to support business intelligence and analytics.
- Develop real-time processing applications and data pipelines to enable instant data insights.
- Ensure data quality and integrity as data moves across various environments within Centene.
- Engage with DevSecOps teams to support continuous integration and deployment of data solutions.
- Monitor and improve data reliability, efficiency, and automation opportunities.
- Provide insights into evolving data processing and storage requirements, recommending innovative solutions.
- Develop, test, document, and operate data architectures using appropriate programming languages and tools.
- Identify and implement improvements to streamline data workflows and automate repetitive tasks.
- Comply with all organizational policies, standards, and best practices related to data security and privacy.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support organizational goals.
