About The Role The Senior Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions within CareFirst. This individual will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, documenting, and validating business requirements related to processes, policies, and information systems. The incumbent will work closely with stakeholders to elicit detailed requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and ensure that the solutions align with organizational objectives. As a technical expert, the Senior Business Analyst will facilitate communication between business units and technical teams, ensuring that software, systems, and process improvements meet the desired outcomes. This role involves managing multiple projects of moderate to high complexity, coordinating efforts across teams, and ensuring timely delivery of quality solutions that support the organization’s strategic goals.

Qualifications Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Alternatively, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in functional, operational, business, data, systems, or testing analysis roles.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, effective deliverables on time; moderate understanding of core business analysis competencies; experience writing and executing SQL queries.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret business needs and issues by gathering, eliciting, analyzing, solutioning, documenting, and validating user and technical requirements. Collaborate with Lead Business Analysts, Product Owners, or Scrum Masters to create technical documentation and configure benefits for claims adjudication.
  • Assist in developing project plans to define, organize, and schedule requirements management activities. Participate actively in requirements analysis, verification sessions, and tracking open issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Oversee the success of user acceptance testing, including documentation, verification, and release. Develop and implement end-user testing procedures, identify system gaps or defects, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Identify, document, and troubleshoot issues related to systems, software, and processes. Work with stakeholders to monitor, report, and resolve technical or business problems, developing solutions or workarounds for complex issues.
  • Review, analyze, and create detailed documentation of business systems and user needs. Ensure that technical requirements are clearly written and well-organized, contributing to key project deliverables for complex initiatives.
  • Monitor project progress, report status, and identify risks to ensure quality and timely delivery. Manage multiple work requests, prioritize tasks, and coordinate projects from inception through implementation.
