About The Role As a Data Analyst II at Brex, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the company’s operational tracking and reporting capabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and various business teams to deliver actionable insights through data visualization, self-service tools, and comprehensive analyses. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence strategic decision-making in a fast-paced fintech environment. You will be instrumental in developing data-driven solutions that support multiple departments, including Sales, Operations, Product, and Finance, ensuring they have the insights needed to optimize performance and achieve business goals.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in data analytics or a related field in a professional setting
- 2+ years of experience working directly with Sales, Operations, Product, or similar business teams
- Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and complex analyses (including CTEs, window functions, joins)
- Experience with Python for data analysis, automation, and scripting
- Hands-on experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Looker, Hex, Tableau, or similar
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights
- Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively with stakeholders across various functions and technical levels
- Experience with generative AI and LLM-based tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) for analysis automation and building self-service data tools
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks
- Knowledge of dbt for data modeling and transformation
- Experience in fintech, financial services, or payments is preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities
Responsibilities
- Design and develop business intelligence solutions, such as dashboards in Looker or Hex, to enable actionable insights through effective data storytelling
- Perform ad-hoc analyses and deep dives to investigate business questions, identify trends, and provide data-driven recommendations
- Create and maintain self-service data tools and processes that empower stakeholders to independently monitor performance metrics and operational health
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to identify relevant data sources, facilitate data pipeline development, and support the creation of analytical data models
- Implement rigorous data quality checks to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of datasets used across reports and analyses
- Partner with departments such as Sales, Operations, Product, and Finance to understand their data needs and deliver tailored reports and insights that support strategic planning
- Automate recurring analyses and reporting workflows using Python to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Maintain documentation and best practices for data analysis processes and visualization solutions
