What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

  • Provide confidential administrative support to the Section Manager and staff, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Manage the Section Manager’s schedule and electronic calendar, tracking important projects and deadlines
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on timekeeping and leave processes, including training new employees
  • Coordinate purchasing and maintain records of orders, ensuring compliance with state purchasing protocols
  • Organize meetings, trainings, and public events, including scheduling and preparation of materials

What Is Required (Qualifications)

  • Four (4) years of experience in clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative office work
  • Education involving a major study in business administration, public administration, or a closely allied field
  • Experience supporting a large team of 20+ individuals in an administrative capacity
  • Ability to handle confidential information and maintain confidentiality
  • Proven proficiency in word processing and document management

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience creating and implementing administrative office procedures
  • Experience in training others on complex processes, software, or equipment
  • Familiarity with state purchasing requirements and protocols
