Personal Care Director Senior Living CorsoCare Personal Care with Independence Village of Traverse City The CorsoCare Personal Care Director is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of administrative clinical and resident care services within a senior living community environment Required Experience Prior supervisory experience requiredCompassionate towards the senior populationAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizationAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situationsPrimary Responsibilities The CorsoCare Personal Care Director actively supports our culture our pillars and 1440Directly manages all Wellness Staff all shifts to provide compassionate and competent care for residentsImplement and coordinate all services for residents admitted to communityPerform evaluations and ongoing assessments of residents quarterlyUse resident evaluation to set measurable goals and outcomes for residents that meet the physical mental and psychosocial needsMake necessary changes to service planOverall responsibility for direction coordination and evaluation of the Personal Care DepartmentCarrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures and regulatory requirements and applicable lawsProvide assistance to staff members regarding any interpretation of criteria standardsEvaluate Occurrence ReportsCare Associate log submitted by staff members to determine if an assessment needs to be performed on an existing resident and report to State of Indiana if applicableResident and family relationship building by assisting families andor residents to identify plan and obtain needed assistance from the Personal Care Department and other departmentsCompletion of appropriate paperwork and recommendations as to better andor more efficient ways of operating the departmentUtilize budget parameters to order and maintain an acceptable level of inventory for the departmentPlanning monthly staff meetings and trainings in collaboration with the Life Enrichment DirectorAct as resident advocate with third party care providersDevelop Care Associate assignmentupdate ongoing task sheetsDevelop organize implement and evaluate training for new and existing staffInterview and hire staff within budgeted guidelinesKnowledge of all emergency policies and provision of updated information to staffOrdering of suppliesLead monthly Wellness Chats with third party providers on resident health and wellness topicsConduct quarterly check ins with Wellness team members to support engagement and developmentFacilitate bi weekly blood pressure clinics and engage residents in proactive careAttend daily stand up meetings with department leaders to discuss community needs and supportParticipate in monthly Resident Forums to share CorsoCare updates and service informationFollow up on falls and perform safety assessments to reduce hazards and support resident well beingConnect with families of residents on LOA to coordinate returns and reassess service needsManage Service Agreements to ensure resident care packages match their current ADL needsSupporting on the floor as neededGeneral Working Conditions This position entails standing for long periods of time While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to communicate effectively with others sit stand walk and use hands to handle keyboard telephone paper files and other equipment and objects The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens The employee will occasionally lift andor move up to 25 pounds The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others The noise level in the work environment is moderate Occasional travel to different locations may be required Equal Opportunity Employer Click on glassdoor to see our employee testimonials SP1
