We are looking for:
Syensqo’s Composite Materials GBU is seeking a highly motivated and technically rigorous PhD scientist to drive innovation in next generation composite and adhesive materials for high-performance and extreme environment applications.
We count on you to:

Design and synthesize novel resin systems and composite materials
-
Establish structure–processing–property relationships for high-performance and extreme environment composite and adhesive materials.

Develop new experimental methods and validation protocols
-
Partner with manufacturing teams to scale breakthrough materials
-
Engage directly with customers and Internal stakeholders.

Contribute to IP generation, publication-quality technical reports, and presentations to high-level stakeholders
You will bring:
-
PhD in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
-
Strong background in polymer science, thermosets, thermoplastics, or composite interfaces and structure-property relationships

Experience with advanced characterization (thermal, rheological, mechanical, spectroscopic, microscopic methods
-
Demonstrated excellence in experimental design and analytical techniques
-
Intellectual curiosity paired with practical material design mindset
-
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
-
Experience with AI/ML tools is ideal, but not required
-
Familiarity with laboratory wet chemistry and formulation practices
-
Strong working knowledge of laboratory HSE protocols

Competitive salary and benefits package

The U.S. annual base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: $98,720 to $123,400 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skills, experience, and qualifications. It can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
