its office presence geographically Your Impact We are seeking a Senior Accountant for our Burlington or Collingwood office As part of our Finance team you will be responsible for leading accounting employees guiding tasks and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily accounting operations This role will also focus on process improvement assisting in streamlining financial operations to boost efficiency and accuracy by focusing on automating manual tasks and standardizing procedures This is a contract position to cover a maternity leave 18 months How you will contribute to the team Understand how routine financial transactions such as processing invoices billing client payments payroll and expense transactions impact accounting recordsOversee general ledger account reconciliations monthly for accuracy of financial dataProvide back up for processing invoices billing outstanding receivables and payrollPrepare and enter monthly journal entriesCalculate remit and pay monthly HST and WSIB premiumsProvide approvals for daily operational tasks such as approvals for credit memos accounts payable invoicing and receivablesTroubleshoot resolve discrepancies and educate the finance team to mitigate errors at the source of financial transactionsSupport digital transformation initiatives to streamline financial processesReview analyze and develop efficient processes for daily operational tasksProvide mentorship and guidance to the finance team members fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvementWhat you bring Post secondary education in Finance Accounting Business or a related fieldMinimum of three 3 years experience in finance with at least one 1 year in a supervisory role considered an assetExperience within engineering consulting or professional services industry is considered an assetSound working knowledge of accounting principles revenue recognition and financial reportingFamiliarity with implementing digital transformation initiativesStrong proficiency in using financial software and database management toolsUnderstanding and experience with payroll and reconciliation Advanced Excel proficiency including pivot tables formulas and data manipulation is a strong advantageExceptional analytical and problem solving skills with keen attention to detailPrevious experience in team management and fostering a collaborative
