Northshire Day School is seeking the ideal candidate to fill our Development
Director position. The Development Director will report to both the Executive Director and the
Board of Trustees, and will be responsible for developing and executing Northshire Day
School’s development and fundraising goals and strategy.
Northshire Day School is a non-profit, 5-STAR, licensed early childhood education program located in Manchester, Vermont. We serve as a vital resource for families and the community, guided by our mission of Love, Inclusion, and Trust (LIT). Each child is our world, and we nurture curiosity, creativity, and resilience through developmentally appropriate curriculum and meaningful relationships.

Our Development Director will play an essential role in advancing this mission. By cultivating strong partnerships, stewarding resources, and elevating our story, the Development Director ensures that children, families, and educators have the support they need to flourish. Duties Develop and execute Northshire Day School’s fundraising goals and strategy.
Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations.
Engage prospective donors with Northshire Day School.
Solicit and secure major gifts in partnership with NDS leadership.
Create and execute an annual fund strategy which builds a sustainable base of
consistent support.
Develop and organize special events, fundraisers, and the annual meeting.
Communicate and build relationships with current board members, promote maximum
giving, provide reports and board prospects.
Lead the management the CRM system.
Develop and distribute all school communications, social media and website
Actively participate in the school’s leadership team, school events and continuous quality improvement.
Create and write all donor correspondence for both individuals and various cohorts.
Identify new grant opportunities and work collaboratively with the leadership team to
write and submit grant proposals.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree required
Proficiency in technology – a strong knowledge of G suite, MS Office and Little Green
Light.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
Embraces a team collaboration approach.
Manages multiple tasks and able to work independently.
