Job Category: GeneralistJob Description: Job Summary: The Senior Manager, Risk and Resiliency will serve as a Sr. Subject Matter Advisor on Crisis Management, Business Continuity and risk related engagements which embrace BDO’s Risk and Resiliency entrepreneurial approach to integrate industry leading practices with innovative techniques and methodologies, collaboratively building and maturing programs for our clients. In this role, the Senior Manager will leverage their expertise in crisis management, business continuity and resiliency, to influence companies and senior leaders across various industries, creating memorable experiences which improve their ability make risk-informed decisions, manage crises, continue critical business operations, and integrate various risk functions. The Senior Manager is creative and confident and comfortable facilitating c-suite meetings, training, and navigating conflict.The Senior Manager is also accountable for growth and management of a portfolio of accounts, meeting sales targets, while also ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget and delivering innovative and quality products which bring unparalleled value to our clients.The Senior Manager is also responsible for mentoring, coaching and the professional development of junior staff and can adjust and connect with team members with varying levels of experience.Job Duties:
- Manages consulting, financial, and operational numbers, such as utilization, realization, margin, sales pipeline
- Demonstrates ability to grow, expand, cross-sell accounts
- Establishes engagement budgets, coordinates deliverables, and maintains appropriate project management to ensure engagements are delivered “on time, on budget, and as promised”
- Consistently develops and delivers accurate and thorough project status reports to client stakeholders and management
- Proactively identifies project risks and issues and resolve them in a timely manner
- Cultivates and maintains strong, trust-based strategic relationships with key client decision makers
- Identifies revenue growth opportunities and coordinates business development efforts including drafting and issuance of statements of work
- Facilitates workshops and presentations to client personnel
- Provides clients with strategic business continuity guidance (written and verbal) in the disciplines of business continuity, crisis management, and enterprise risk management
- Recommends enhancements to client operations and infrastructure to strengthen business resiliency and recovery capabilities
- Contributes to the development of methodologies and intellectual capital
- Exhibits mastery of consulting methodology, materials, tools, and continuity software
- Participates in client pitches and manages new relationships through CRM
- Develops client policies and strategies to assess and mitigate risk associated with business interruption, disaster recovery, cyber-attacks, black swan events, and other strategic crises
- Leads the development of business continuity, crisis management, disaster recovery plans, and training materials for clients
- Leads the development all aspects of risk and resilience programs – (e.g., strategy, governance, operating model, and support training and development needs of senior executives
- Develops support function-level (HR, Legal, etc.) business unit, and product-level crisis and resilience planning, training, and exercises
- Leads development and facilitates business continuity and crisis management exercises to assess potential business impacts, define critical, time-sensitive processes and develop business continuity plans
- Leads development and facilitates workshops/presentations to clients and executive stakeholders
- Provides clients with strategic business continuity guidance (written and verbal) in the disciplines of business continuity, crisis management and enterprise risk management
- Contributes to the development of methodologies and intellectual capital
- Manages consulting engagements, content development, content delivery and client relationships
- Manages engagement financial and operational health, such as utilization, realization, margin and the sales pipeline
- Grows, expands and cross-sells accounts
- Applies mastery of consulting methodology, materials, tools, and continuity software
- Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides strong leadership, technical guidance, coaching, and support to junior consultants ensuring they are trained on all relevant tools and techniques
- Evaluates the performance of junior consultants and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional development
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, required; focus in Business Administration or Risk Management preferred
- Master’s degree (MBA), preferred
Experience:
- Ten (10) or more years of work experience, required
- Ten (10) or more years of risk management, information technology disaster recovery, business continuity, emergency management or crisis management, required
- Professional client service experience, preferred
- Knowledge regarding strategies to leverage business interruption insurance, preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- DRII, BCI or similar accreditation, preferred
Software:
- Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required
- Experience with Teams, Zoom, Skype, GoTo Meeting or other web-based meeting applications, preferred
- Experience with SharePoint and familiarity with cloud-based CRM tools, preferred
- Familiarity with risk and/or resiliency software (e.g. Archer, Fusion, Origami, ServiceNow Fairchild, etc.), preferred

- Supports a collaborative and team-oriented environment while pushing themselves, their peers, and their teams for strong results and quality work
- Executive presence and ability to act as primary client contact on assigned engagements
- Effectively handles firm and practice administrative matters, including engagement staffing, client billing, monitoring project economics and adherence to Firm quality standards and protocols
- The successful candidate must also be willing and able to travel, when necessary
Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.National Range: $160,000 – $190,000
Maryland Range: $160,000 – $190,000
