The Director NA SAP Program leads and oversees the successful deployment of the global Smurfit WestRock SAP solutions across North America. The Director NA SAP Program will manage multiple sub-programs and projects within a complex transformation landscape, ensuring alignment with global and regional strategy. The Director NA SAP Program oversees a team of regional project managers, consisting of 6 FTE, and is expected to travel approximately one to two times per month, depending on the program portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  1. Alignment & coordination
  • Oversees and ensures execution of program roadmaps/milestones within the region, delivering solutions that meet agreed functionality, cost, and quality.

  • Lead contact between the SAP CoE and regional stakeholders for alignment, detailing and estimation of the regional SAP implementation roadmap.

  • Sets up and runs program governance and steering committees together with the relevant project managers and system integrators.

  • Ensures broad alignment with global SAP template and architecture standards.

  • Coordinates with Project Managers to ensure well-integrated solutions across all functional areas.

  • Liaise with business stakeholders to ensure program roadmap and objectives remain aligned with evolving business priorities.

  • Ensures delivery commitments and performance from System Integrators, in collaboration with the relevant vendor/contract manager.

  1. Quality assurance
  • Serve as the final authority for decisions related to the integration with other projects.

  • Manage the connection and cooperation with other projects that could influence the core project.

  • Drive the adoption of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives in program delivery.

  • Oversee and ensure the quality and consistency in execution of the program tools and methodology according to SW ways of working and SDLC.

  1. Monitoring & reporting
  • Monitor program progress, identifying and mitigating risks and issues to ensure successful program outcomes.

  • Ensure effective escalation, mitigation, and decision-making processes.

  • Facilitate regular program reviews and assessments, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions together with the PMO lead.

  • Provide global communication of program status and updates to the CoE leadership and business stakeholders.

  • Track and report on resource utilization and timeline adherence.

  • Maintain comprehensive program documentation, ensuring transparency and auditability of key decisions and milestones.

  1. Team Management
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across business and IT teams involved in the SAP deployments.

  • Actively coach and mentor project managers, helping them grow their delivery capabilities and leadership skills.

  1. Budget Management
  • Conduct program and project estimations together with the respective project managers.

  • Manage the program budget and resource allocations for North America deployments.

  • Track program financial performance against plans and targets.

The Director NA SAP Program is part of the broader SAP Programs department in the Global SAP CoE. The SAP Programs organization leads the delivery of major transformation initiatives, new implementations, and business-driven projects across the enterprise. It manages the SAP project
