Job Title: Director of Sales

Job Grade/Classification: Exempt

Reporting Structure: This position reports to the Executive Vice President

Supervisory Responsibilities if Applicable (List any Direct Reports): Sales positions.

Job Summary This position is responsible to lead and manage the sales team to drive revenue and achieve sales targets. This position is required to develop and implement sales strategies, identify new business opportunities, and build strong relationships with clients. Additionally, they analyze market trends, monitor competitors, and collaborate with the Director of Marketing to ensure alignment with overall business goals. The Director of Sales is focused on maximizing the company’s overall sales and revenue, particularly within Biztec’s industry, by effectively managing the sales team and fostering client relationships. The primary responsibility of a Director of Sales for Biztec is to maximize the company’s overall sales and revenue.

Responsibilities, Duties & Accountabilities The core, critical and essential work duties, functions, and responsibilities of the position are as follows:

  • Create and implement sales strategies to drive business growth and meet revenue targets;
  • Identify and nurture new sales leads and opportunities;
  • Facilitate sales opportunities through various channels and disperse to sales team as necessary;
  • Maintain positive relationships with business partners (Verkada, SpotAI, Brivo, etc.) through frequent communication, including but not limited to inperson meetings/dinners, conferences, trainings, etc.;
  • Identify applicable training opportunities for sales team;
  • Establish relationships with potential customers, identifying their needs and goals as it relates to our service offerings;
  • Coordinate and/or conduct site walks and necessary assessments to obtain relevant data for the purpose of quoting physical security or managed IT services;
  • Coordinate with Director of Operations and/or Project Managers to ensure physical security projects are being carried out according to scope.
  • Work with Business Manager to ensure payment has been collected for projects and/or monthly recurring services.
  • Identify and complete (or assign) ‘Requests for Proposals’ for IT projects, physical security projects, and/or cybersecurity projects as part of Biztec’s net new growth initiative;
  • Lead sales team in a way that aligns with Biztec’s Charter Documents;
  • Develop and manage sales budgets, including forecasting expenses and ensuring spending stays within budgetary limits.
  • Analyze sales data to forecast future sales trends and set appropriate targets and quotas;
  • Prepare regular sales reports for senior management to track progress;
  • Provide support to sales team to aid in closing/winning projects;
  • Negotiate sales contracts with customers and partners, ensuring that terms are favorable for the company while meeting customer needs;
  • Maintain a good understanding of the IT and physical security industry, including product knowledge, market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies;
  • Review and approve sales team’s commission reports at the end of each month and sends to Business Manager for processing;
  • Refer to and work with Human Resources on employee disciplinary and other employee relations issues or concerns;
  • Attend regularly scheduled and/or asneeded meetings with Superiors.
  • Conduct L.I.G.H.T. meetings (minimum of one per month) with Subordinates to discuss leadership, information, growth, help, and teamwork.
  • Conduct weekly sales meetings or checkins with sales team to communicate goals, objectives, action items, etc.;
  • Other projects and duties as assigned;

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field is preferred;
  • Several years’ experience in sales, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Experience in the IT industry, physical security industry or related field is preferred;
  • Must possess ten years in strong leadership skills at a Director or higher level.
  • Must have the ability to lead and motivate a sales team. Experience in hiring, training, and managing sales staff is preferred;
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members, and senior management;
  • Must possess strong negotiation skills with the ability to negotiate sales contracts and agreements with customers and partners.
  • Must carry quota (as determined by management) until Sales team is fully established;
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate marketing messages;
  • Must possess the ability to think creatively and utilize various design programs;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related sales software
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and complete accurate documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully multitask, using strong organizational skills, and time management with an attention to accuracy and detail

  • The following physical demands are requirements and must be met in order for the successful performance of the job position: This position requires the incumbent to: stand for long periods of time, walk frequently and use full reach and range of motion in arms, hands and fingers, with continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bimanual dexterity and fine motor skills, to bend, stoop, kneel and lift (floor to waist up to 25 lbs., waist to shoulders up to 20lbs.), carry, push, pull and frequently climb stairs
  • Ability to maintain a regular and routine attendance and be punctual for work
  • Ability to be available and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
