++Position Overview:++

This role reports to an excellent mentor, the CFO, whose highest priority is to develop you into a CFO capable of running a large team that relies on data to make sound decisions. This complex equity sponsored enterprise possesses huge upside and is looking to locate their next growth-minded FP&A leader. As a vital leader in publicly held engineering firm, you will bridge the gap between complex project operations and executive strategy. You will lead a sophisticated finance function, providing the “voice of reason” to the CFO and CEO while mentoring a high-performing team. This is a highly visible role where you will be grandfathered in a seat at the table for the experience you bring to the role. We are seeking a leader who excels in a project-based, multi-location environment and possesses the gravitas to drive operational excellence across a national footprint.

The FP&A savant will oversee all areas of the company’s Financial Planning and Analysis, Strategy Planning, and Operational Finance functions. You will be responsible for identifying and implementing value-added scalable FP&A processes. This role will also support our strategic initiatives by generating key insights into business performance. ++Duties:++

  • Partner with senior leadership and functional organs to develop models, systems, and processes that will provide important and relevant insights to guide the short- and long-term execution of our strategic plan
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, CFO, and COO, translating complex financial data into actionable strategic insights.
  • Evaluate gross margin and profitability at the job, regional, and corporate levels, identifying risks and opportunities in real time by data driven reasoning
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support business initiatives, M&A due diligence, and synergy analysis for market expansion and new revenue streams.
  • Work with our Sr. Director of Revenue & Shared Services as you monitor the impact of Percentage of Completion (POC) from individual projects that tie into our quarterly forecasts.
  • Define and track critical metrics including labor utilization, WIP, backlog growth, and growth trends.
  • Spearhead the transition from manual, Excel-based tools to next-generation planning systems as you are on the steering committee to implement Data Rails, Anaplan, Tableau, and/or PowerBI
  • Perform in-depth cash flow analysis and forecasting, recognizing that project liquidity and profit takeoff do not always move in tandem.
  • Coordinate development of annual cost savings initiatives and non-financial goals & metrics. Develop and implement a monthly process that effectively monitors and manages the financial systems director to progress our reporting structure.
  • Lead to design, implement, and maintain FP&A processes that provide financial and operational transparency that will support CFO, CEO, and VP of Investor Relations on quarterly earnings release.
  • Partner with Corporate Support Center and Regional Operations teams to produce monthly reporting packages and related operational drivers that enhance visibility in performance of Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and KPIs.
  • Proactively looks for ways to improve the accuracy and speed of processes including the implementation of new tools and systems

++Knowledge & Skills:++

  • 15 years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles
  • CPA, MBA, Public Company, or Private Equity Experience
  • Budgeting/Planning/Analytic Tool Experience such as Adaptive Insights, Host Analytics, Planful, Anaplan, Vena OneStream, HFM, Alteryx, or Tableau all a plus
