We are seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Director of IT Enterprise Applications to lead and optimize the institution’s enterprise systems ecosystem in support of operational excellence, institutional growth, and student success.
Summary
The Senior Director of IT Enterprise Applications provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the enterprise application environment, including the Student Portal, Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Student Information System (SIS), Learning Management System (LMS), Finance and Operations (F&O) platforms, and other integrated applications. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, optimization, and alignment of these critical platforms to support institutional operations and long-term strategic initiatives.
The Senior Director leads a team of specialized IT Systems Administrators, providing direction, resource planning, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver secure, efficient, and high-quality enterprise system solutions. This role partners closely with executive leadership, functional departments, and external vendors to ensure enterprise applications meet operational needs, compliance requirements, and organizational priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Oversight
- Provide vision, strategic direction, and technical leadership for enterprise applications
- Develop and execute short- and long-term plans for system optimization, upgrades, and technology adoption
- Ensure alignment of application platforms with institutional goals, compliance standards, and industry best practices
- Serve as the primary liaison between IT and key functional areas
Team Leadership and Staff Development
- Supervise and mentor team members responsible for enterprise systems including ECM, CRM, SIS, LMS, and F&O
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment
- Define roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations
- Support professional development through coaching, training, and performance management
Application Management and Optimization
- Oversee administration, configuration, and optimization of enterprise applications
- Ensure system performance, reliability, and data integrity
- Lead integration efforts across institutional systems
- Ensure systems are properly maintained, patched, and upgraded
- Partner with stakeholders to prioritize and deliver enhancements
Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management
- Establish and enforce governance processes including change management, security, and access controls
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements such as FERPA, GDPR, and PCI
- Support audits, security assessments, and data protection initiatives
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact for executive leadership, business units, and vendors
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration
- Communicate system performance, project updates, and risks effectively
Budgeting and Resource Management
- Develop and manage budgets for enterprise applications, staffing, and vendor support
- Optimize resource allocation across operational and project needs
- Manage vendor relationships, licensing, and service agreements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required)
- Minimum of five years of experience leading managers, supervisors, and technical teams
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale enterprise platforms such as CRM, SIS, LMS, ECM, and Finance and Operations systems
- Strong understanding of IT security, access management, and regulatory compliance frameworks
