ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:TelevisaUnivision is seeking a creative and technically skilled Director of Livestream — Musical Production to lead the planning, direction, and execution of high-quality livestreams for musical performances. This role is essential to bringing the energy and artistry of live music to virtual audiences across platforms like YouTube, Facebook Live, Instagram, and ticketed streaming platforms.YOUR DAY-DAY:Creative Direction:
Lead the visual and narrative approach to livestreaming musical performances, ensuring dynamic and emotionally compelling audience experiences.Live Production Leadership:
Direct multicamera setups during live performances, coordinating with camera operators, switchers, and audio engineers in real time.Technical Oversight:
Oversee all aspects of livestream tech: audio/video capture, encoding, streaming platforms, lighting, sound checks, and internet reliability.Pre-Production Planning:
Collaborate with artists, stage managers, lighting designers, and choreographers to plan camera angles, shot lists, cues, transitions, and set changes.Team Collaboration:
Work closely with producers, sound engineers, and marketing teams to ensure a smooth production from rehearsals to the final broadcast.Platform Management:
Manage livestream delivery across digital platforms, optimizing for each.Rehearsals & Tech Runs:
Conduct technical rehearsals and work closely with performers to ensure timing, blocking, and camera awareness are performance-ready.Post-Event:
Provide post-stream review, audience engagement analysis, and recommendations for future productions.YOU HAVE: 5 years of experience directing livestreams or live event video productions, preferably in music, theater, or performing arts.Strong understanding of live musical performance flow, tempo, and visual pacing.Technical proficiency in livestream platforms and software.Familiarity with professional audio setups and the nuances of mixing for live musical performances.Excellent communication and team management skills.Ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt to changes during live performance.Knowledge of lighting design and how it impacts livestream visual quality.Experience in directing or editing live-to-tape productions.Musical intuition with a strong sense of timing and performance dynamicsVisual storytelling expertise and attention to detailStrong leadership and collaborative spiritInnovative thinker, always exploring new ways to engage digital audiencesTelevisaUnivision is an equal opportunity employer.
