About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in Plano, TX. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the design, development, and optimization of a modern, cloud-based data platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building scalable data pipelines, enhancing data workflows, and enabling cross-functional teams to access high-quality, reliable data for strategic decision-making. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will collaborate closely with business analysts, data scientists, and BI developers to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring data integrity, security, and governance while continuously improving system performance and scalability.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience in software development or data engineering, with a focus on modern data ecosystems.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on SQL experience, including schema design and dimensional modeling.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines, preferably using tools such as dbt and Airflow.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, scripting, and automation.
• Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure, with a proven track record of deploying production-grade data solutions.
• Demonstrated success in building scalable data systems, optimizing workflows, and troubleshooting complex issues.
• Strong communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery, ensuring efficiency and reliability across batch and streaming data workflows.
• Build and optimize data workflows using tools such as dbt and Airflow, focusing on scalability, performance, and resilience.
• Work with large, complex datasets to ensure data quality, consistency, and security, implementing monitoring and alerting systems to track pipeline health.
• Partner with business and technical teams to gather requirements, translating them into effective data solutions that support business objectives.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and BI developers to improve data accessibility and facilitate insights generation.
• Implement data validation, cleansing, and monitoring frameworks to uphold data quality standards.
• Apply best practices around data security, encryption, and handling of sensitive information to ensure compliance and protect organizational assets.
• Maintain metadata and lineage tracking to provide transparency and trust in the data ecosystem.
• Continuously seek opportunities to enhance pipeline performance, scalability, and automation through research and innovation.
• Contribute to long-term data architecture planning to support evolving business needs and technological advancements.
