Internal: Transportation Specialist

Job Summary The Transportation Specialist will operate Homeboy Industries’ shuttling service utilizing our 15-seat passenger vans and various other company vehicles. The Transportation Specialist will be tasked with performing operator-level inspections on company vehicles and operating the shuttle and various Homeboy Industries vehicles safely and reliably, with minimum oversight as this is a self-guided role. The Transportation Specialist will need to obtain and maintain a Class C Driver’s License, at minimum, and will be subject to random drug testing, if necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for transporting Homeboy trainees between Homeboy’s various social enterprises and program locations, based on the needs and requests that arises
Load, transport, and unload packages weighing as much as 40 pounds
Perform operator-level inspections on all company levels and operate all shuttles safely and reliably
Thoroughly clean company vehicles, as required, on a weekly basis

Qualifications and Experience :

1-2 years of driving experience and a solid safety record is required
Must have a clean DMV driving record
Must have and maintain a California Driver’s License (required)
Time management, self-instructed and a strong sense of people friendly skills
Flexibility with work schedule. Willingness to work split-shifts and overtime (if needed)
