HealthCare Support is seeking a Director, Medical Economics, to join a mission-driven healthcare organization that impacts the lives of more than 230,000 Medicaid-eligible residents across six North Carolina counties!Pay Details: $116,000 – $149,000 (determined based on the education, experience, etc.)Shift Details: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMDaily Responsibilities for Director, Medical Economics
- Oversee service spending, reimbursement analysis, and financial performance improvement initiatives
- Partner with CFO, SVP of Financial Operations, and leadership to prepare budgets, forecasts, and performance reports
- Drive Medical Cost Action Plans and other cost-saving initiatives using actuarial and utilization data
- Lead statistical and financial analyses to assess the effectiveness of clinical programs in collaboration with the CMO
- Develop, implement, and monitor dashboards, reports, and BI analytics to support decision-making and cost reduction
- Collaborate with Clinical and Network Operations to improve service delivery, evaluate contract structures, and align financial and operational strategies
- Manage, mentor, and develop staff while fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance culture
- Lead the Organization Performance Management Committee, ensuring accountability and alignment with strategic goals
- Stay current on healthcare regulations and medical economics best practices to inform innovation and continuous improvement
- Identify and execute new initiatives to enhance financial performance, quality of care, risk adjustment, and clinical outcomes
Required Qualifications for Director, Medical Economics :
- Must reside in North Carolina
- 7 years’ experience in managed care, performing a broad range of health plan data analytics that result in positive financial results and cost initiatives
- Must have a strong finance/economics background and be able to interpret large sets of data
- 3 years of experience managing a team
- Experience must include presenting to executive leadership; analysis of medical claims, clinical assessments, and EMRs
- Extensive experience with health plan financial and regulatory reporting standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Health Information Technology, Finance, or a related field
