About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Software Engineer specializing in Data Analysis to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. This onsite position offers an exciting opportunity to work on the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program, supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). As a key contributor within the SPA team, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated data analysis products that directly influence the design and enhancement of missile defense capabilities. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability, technical expertise, and a collaborative spirit. Your work will involve analyzing complex data sets, automating workflows through scripting, and contributing to critical system performance assessments.

Qualifications The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or technical discipline, complemented by at least five years of related experience. An active Secret Clearance is mandatory. Proficiency in Python is essential, including experience with Python for software development and data analysis—such as performance analysis, scripting for automation, and utilizing libraries like Pandas and NumPy. Demonstrated expertise in root cause analysis of software issues and familiarity with Bitbucket for version control are required. Additionally, experience with object-oriented programming languages, specifically C and C++, focusing on algorithms, sensor fusion, and simulation development, is highly desirable. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and a willingness to assume technical leadership roles when necessary. Experience with requirements decomposition, testing, and missile defense test objectives will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data analysis products that support the GWS program, ensuring they meet technical and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement data-driven models for missile defense systems.
• Perform software root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently, minimizing system downtime and enhancing performance.
• Automate workflows and processes using Python scripting, leveraging libraries such as Pandas and NumPy for data manipulation and analysis.
• Contribute to algorithm development, focusing on tracking, sensor fusion, and simulation components critical to missile defense capabilities.
• Participate in requirements decomposition, testing, and validation activities to ensure system robustness and reliability.
• Document technical work, prepare presentations, and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Work independently and within team environments, demonstrating leadership potential and initiative as needed.
