Multimodal Data Analytics Engineer | Laurel, MD | On-site | $105,000 – $245,000 We’re working with a premier national security research and development powerhouse on this exciting opportunity. You will dive into massive, disparate datasets to uncover hidden stories and provide situational awareness that protects the nation.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex data science and real-world operations, leveraging AI, Machine Learning, and high-performance software engineering to turn messy telemetry and network traffic into actionable intelligence. We are looking for a technical leader who can architect robust analytical tools using Python, C++, and cloud-native technologies.

The Role

  • Conceive and design sophisticated analytical pipelines that fuse multimodal data, including video, mobility data, and computer network traffic, into meaningful insights.
  • Build and deploy mission-focused software tools for research and operational applications using Python and C++.
  • Apply advanced AI/ML techniques, including NLP (LangChain), Computer Vision (OpenCV), and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow/PyTorch) to analyze complex telemetry.
  • Mentor junior engineers and scientists, providing technical guidance on data engineering fundamentals and modular software design.
  • Identify emerging national security needs and propose innovative technical capabilities to stakeholders and sponsors.

What You’ll Need

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in analytical tool development and software engineering.
  • Mastery of data engineering fundamentals: ingestion, transformation (Pandas/GeoPandas), storage (SQL/NoSQL/Parquet), and fusion.
  • Hands-on experience with modern DevOps and containerization tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Strong background in network analytics or cyber-physical data (experience with tools like Scapy or Zeek is highly preferred).
  • Ability to obtain an interim Top Secret security clearance (requires U.S. Citizenship) and willingness to pursue a TS/SCI.
