IT Project Manager (MSP | Hybrid in Des Plaines, IL

$85,000 – $100,000

We’re looking for a Project Manager who knows how to bring order to chaos and keep projects moving and on time, on budget, and with no surprises. This is a hybrid role, with about 50% of your time spent managing projects and the other 50% rolling up your sleeves to work tickets and solve real IT issues.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and communicate early, often, and clearly
  • Scope, plan, and run projects from kickoff to completion
  • Build realistic project schedules that hit deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Coordinate with engineers and vendors to ensure smooth delivery
  • Track progress, anticipate challenges, and adjust as needed
  • Manage budgets and forecast project spend and timelines
  • Lead check-ins with internal teams and clients to ensure alignment
  • Resolve issues, manage change orders, and keep projects moving forward
  • Assist with change management and help clients adapt to new systems
  • Occasionally travel to client sites as needed

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of project management experience with a MSP
  • Skilled at translating “tech speak” into client-friendly communication
  • Familiar with PM tools like Asana, MS Project, or Jira
  • Comfortable building and tracking budgets with attention to detail
  • Experienced in SOW creation and spotting scope creep
  • Highly organized, calm under pressure, and enjoyable to work with
  • Growth-oriented with a mindset that sees every challenge as an opportunity

Bonus Points If You:

  • Have experience with change management
  • Understand compliance/security standards
  • Have handled vendor management or resource planning
  • Can mentor junior team members and help others grow
