About The Role The IT Business Analyst, Senior at Connect Talent Solutions will play a pivotal role in analyzing process workflows and operational data to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within our client’s environment. This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in IT and cybersecurity business analysis, who will work closely with customers and senior leadership to assess current work environments, identify opportunities for process improvements, and implement innovative solutions. The successful candidate will develop and maintain visualization products and metrics that support strategic decision-making, ensuring that operational goals are met through continuous improvement initiatives. This role is onsite in Hampton, VA, and demands a proactive, detail-oriented individual capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while fostering effective communication across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in IT and/or cybersecurity business analysis and project management.
  • Hands-on experience with data analytics and visualization tools, with PowerBI preferred.
  • Active ITIL certification or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is desirable.
  • Active PMP certification is preferred.
  • Expertise in NIST SP 800-37, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, or similar standards is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across teams and with clients.
  • Ability to translate customer needs into comprehensive business cases and improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of DoD directives such as DoD Directive 7045-14, DODI 8115.05, and AFI 17-110 is a plus.
  • Active DoD security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with customers and team members to identify process, innovation, and automation opportunities that enhance mission workflows.
  • Define detailed project objectives by understanding business functions, gathering pertinent information, and documenting requirements accurately.
  • Evaluate system change proposals, providing well-informed recommendations aligned with guidance and policy standards.
  • Develop and maintain visualization products, dashboards, and reports that support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Create workflow diagrams, study system capabilities, and write specifications to support innovative recommendations.
  • Manage approved business analysis projects, including setting objectives, developing schedules, and allocating resources effectively.
  • Brief senior leadership and stakeholders on project status, findings, and recommendations as needed.
  • Ensure documentation of project results is comprehensive and updated in relevant guides and continuity folders.
  • Conduct research related to financial, market, operational, and product data to inform strategic planning and decision-making processes.
  • Interpret and analyze research data to develop integrated business analyses and future projections.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and tools relevant to business analysis, data visualization, and metrics development.
  • Provide analysis of metrics related to IT budgets, compliance, and operational performance for senior leadership review.
  • Recommend continuous improvement initiatives based on data analytics and cost-benefit analyses to optimize processes and resource allocation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting the overall mission and objectives of the organization.
