HR Generalist
Human Resource Generalist Common Sail Investment Group Position Summary The Human Resources Generalist provides day to day support to leaders and employees within the senior housing and healthcare industry This role serves as a trusted resource on company policies procedures and employment practices with a strong focus on employee relations compliance and operational HR support The Human Resources Generalist independently manages routine HR matters and conducts low level investigations with minimal oversight escalating more complex issues as appropriate This position requires sound judgment discretion empathy and the ability to operate effectively in an Employee First and people focused environment Required Experience for Payroll and Compensation Specialist Bachelors degree required; degree in Human Resources is preferred24 years of progressive human resources experience requiredDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities meet deadlines and work independentlyWorking knowledge of employee relations practices corrective action processes and basic employment lawStrong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications; HRIS experience preferred Accountabilities and Job Duties Employee Relations & Leader Support Serves as a first point of contact for leaders and employees regarding HR policies procedures and employment related questionsProvides guidance and coaching to leaders on performance management corrective action documentation and compliance with leave of absence and accommodation requirements including ADAProvides guidance to leaders on day to day employee relations issues including attendance performance concerns and policy interpretationSupports in disciplinary actions up to and including terminations in alignment with company policy and employment lawsInvestigations & Compliance Conducts low level employee relations investigations independently including gathering facts interviewing parties documenting findings and recommending outcomesEnsures investigations are handled consistently confidentially and in compliance with company standards and applicable lawsEscalates complex or sensitive matters to HR leadership as appropriateHR Operations & Administration Triages and responds to a high volume of employee and leadership inquiries using the companys Salesforce case management system ensuring timely accurate and consistent resolutionAdministers and supports human resource policies and procedures across assigned communities or departmentsAssists with onboarding activities ensuring a smooth and compliant new hire experienceMaintains accurate and confidential employee records and HR data related to compensation benefits training recruitment and employee status changesPrepares internal employee communications with appropriate oversightSupports HR Business Partners and HR leadership with projects audits and initiatives as neededCulture & Engagement Demonstrates a strong understanding of our 1440 company culture and Common BeliefsModels professionalism empathy and servant leadership in all interactionsSupports initiatives that enhance employee engagement retention and workplace culture Skills for Success Empathy Demonstrates genuine care and respect for employees and leaders in a people focused environmentJudgment & Discretion Handles sensitive matters with professionalism and confidentialityPrioritization & Multitasking Effectively manages multiple priorities projects and deadlines in a fast past environment while maintaining accuracy responsiveness and attention to detailCommunication Strong verbal written and listening skills; able to explain policies clearly and professionallyLearning Agility Demonstrates a willingness to learn and adaptAccountability Sets high standards for personal performance and follows through on commitmentsConfidentiality Maintains strict confidentiality of employee and company information at all times General Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to communicate effectively with others sit stand walk and use hands to handle keyboard telephone and other equipment and objects The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens The employee will occasionally lift andor move up to 20 pounds The noise level in the work environment is moderate Occasional travel may be required CSALL
