The Baler Room Attendant will be responsible to operate the auger, baler, and transport scrap material using fork trucks. Responsibilities also include solid waste removal, maintenance of waste collection points, and other material transfer duties as assigned.

What you will do as Baler Room Attendant:

  • Collect loose scrap and waste materials throughout the plant using fork truck

  • Responsible for making sure waste has been weighted before baling

  • Sort and disposed of scrap and waste materials appropriately

  • Maintain waste collection points throughout the plant

  • Operate the baler and transport strapped bails to out bound trucks

  • Manually feed scrap material into the auger

  • Perform basic cleanup of baler and baler room

  • Clean work areas in accordance with established 7S standards

  • Perform other material transfer duties as assigned

  • Follow established safety policies, including daily maintenance check sheets

  • Complete power equipment training and certification process and operate powered industrial trucks to transport materials

We are looking for a Baler Room Attendant with:

  • Minimum 1 year of work experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience

  • Ability to operate a powered industrial truck

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Self-directed and able to safely work at a pace that meets or exceeds the departmental standards

  • Able to read, understand and follow written instructions

  • Able to perform basic math functions

  • Team-oriented, has excellent attendance, and communication skills

  • Pays attention to detail

  • Basic computer skills

  • Can work flexible hours (12-hour shift)

Physical requirements and working conditions:

  • Must be able to wear ALL required PPE

  • Lift / push / pull up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to work 12 hours a day on A shift or B shift

  • Ability to twist, reach, and bend, grasp, and manipulate objects

  • Ability to sit and drive a forklift and clamp truck
