About the Columbus Symphony The Columbus Symphony Orchestra CSO is a cornerstone of the citys cultural life dedicated to bringing high quality orchestral music and arts education to the community As we celebrate our 75th Anniversary season we are expanding educational programs and deepening our engagement with students families and educators across Columbus The Education team plays a central role in making orchestral music accessible inspiring and meaningful for young audiences The Opportunity Are you passionate about music education and community engagement Do you want to gain hands on experience in arts administration program coordination and nonprofit operations Are you motivated by helping programs reach students teachers young musicians and families in ways that are inclusive innovative and impactful This internship provides a unique opportunity to support the CSOs Education programs while collaborating with cross functional teams including Education Marketing Artistic and Production Key Responsibilities As an Education Intern you will support the Columbus Symphonys school and community programs through tasks such as Assisting with program logistics and event coordination including Young Peoples Concerts in school performances and workshops Supporting data management and registration tracking for students teachers and schools Helping to create and distribute marketing materials for education programs Collaborating with the Education team and other CSO departments to ensure smooth execution of programs Collecting and organizing feedback from participants to help evaluate program effectiveness Assisting with other administrative tasks as needed to support Education initiatives Assist with on site Academy lessons and Young Musicians Showcase This job description is not designed to cover orcontainan exhaustivelistof duties responsibilities andkey performanceobjectivesthat areexpectedof the employeeThese items may change or new job related items may be assigned from time to time Learning Outcomes Gain practical hands on experience in arts education program coordination and administration Develop skills in data management marketing support and cross functional collaboration Build professional connections within a leading cultural institution and the broader arts education community Contribute to meaningful programs that provide access to live orchestral music for thousands of students and families Credentials and Experience Enrollment in a collegeuniversity program in Music Music Education Arts Administration Nonprofit Management or a related field Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks Clear written and verbal communication skills Comfort with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Canva or other design platforms a plus Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative in a team oriented environment An Interest in music education youth programs and community engagement Special Requirements Successful completion of standard and BCIFBI background checks The majority of CSOs public events take placeatnightandonweekends This position requiresoccasionalpresence on siteduringnights
