Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Company Overview:

Our client is a leading owner and operator of renewable energy assets across North America. With a diversified portfolio exceeding 2,200 MW of utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage facilities. Operating in over 15 states, their experienced team leverages decades of expertise in power generation and asset management to ensure the smooth and successful operations.

Position Summary:

The Director will be a key member of our high-performing and collaborative team, responsible for leading M&A and capital deployment strategies across the North American renewable energy and infrastructure markets. This individual will play a central role in leading investment underwriting, overseeing transaction execution, and managing junior team members. The Director will support key growth initiatives, including acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic capital recycling efforts.

Investment Banking Associates / Senior Associates from Energy & Infrastructure teams are preferred profiles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end transaction processes for M&A and greenfield investment opportunities, including due diligence, valuation, structuring, and execution.
  • Act as the lead investment underwriter across renewable energy and energy transition sectors.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models (DCF, precedent transactions, etc.) to support investment decisions and business planning.
  • Create and deliver clear, concise presentation materials to senior management and investment committees.
  • Oversee and mentor junior team members, reviewing analytical work and supporting professional development.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the company and external stakeholders, including advisors, consultants, and investors.
  • Support corporate-level M&A and strategic initiatives, including capital recycling and portfolio optimization.
  • Lead deal structuring efforts and participate in the evaluation of new market segments and emerging opportunities.
  • Manage divestiture and acquisition processes, including coordination with external financial advisors when applicable.
  • Contribute to ongoing value creation initiatives across existing portfolio assets.
  • Conduct industry research and ad hoc strategic analyses as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline; strong academic credentials required.
  • 6–10 years of relevant experience in investment banking, project finance, transaction advisory, or infrastructure investing, with a preference for exposure to the renewable energy sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage junior professionals and lead transaction execution in high-stakes environments.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, valuation analysis, and transaction structuring.
  • Experience conducting due diligence and developing investment committee materials for project- and corporate-level opportunities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; confident working with senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Collaborative, results-oriented mindset with a high degree of professional maturity.
