Residence Services Supervisor ( 12 Month Contract )
1 Position Summary and Job Magnitude The Residence Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising all duties of the front desk insuring a high quality of service delivery and capability to resolve various magnitudes of day to day challenges that flow through the front desk They are the liaison for all inter department communications requiring excellent communication and leadership skills The Residence Services Supervisor will also compliment the role of the Operations Manager or General Manager specifically with day to day operational tasks conducted through the front desk and business office 2 Essential Functions and Basic Duties Oversee and supervise the operations of the front desk and Residence Services Representative staffEstablish a plan or routine for the night audit and or security staff Complete administrative work as assignedPerform front desk responsibilities from time to time including Check inout settling accounts resolving disputesHave the ability to step into the role of Manager on Duty from time to timeAssist in training and developing of staffHave excellent people skills and the ability to write effective lettersMaintains a team atmosphere within the organizationHelp organizing the office to ensure all files and information are easily foundEnsure that any conflicts are dealt with properly and immediatelyPerform accounting functions as assigned including daily balancing and month end activitiesHave the ability to create and adapt to new ideas and changesBe flexible to work various hours including weekend work to cover the needs of the businessBe adaptable to various management situations that may be considered stressful or difficultParticipate in on call responsibilities on evenings and weekends and respond to facility student and guest emergency or crisis situationsOther duties as assigned Health & Safety Require employees work in the manner and with the protective devices measures and procedures required by the OHSA regulations and Campus Living Centres eg wearing safety shoes confining hair jewelry or loose clothing around moving parts etcEnsure the Personal Protective Equipment required for all subordinates job is readily available in good working condition and ensure usage is recordedEnsure all trainings required for each task are identified documented and readily availableEnsure all WHMIS 2015 regulated supplies and SDS sheets are readily availableEnsure hazard identification labelling and any additional chemical safety resources and documents are up to date and available for all workers 3 Qualifications EducationRecognized College Diploma or University Degree SkillsAbilities Must possess superior verbal and written communication skillsMust possess superior attitude towards learningMust be able to handle multiple projects at onceMust be able to provide leadership to staffExperience RequiredMinimum of 2 years industry experience or equivalent management experience
