What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

  • Answer phone inquiries from patients, facilities, and payers regarding account charges and insurance payments
  • Set up payment plans for patients as requested
  • Maintain confidentiality of Patient Health Information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Communicate any questions or issues to the Lead and Supervisor as necessary
  • Perform various clerical duties including collecting balances due and recording payments to accounts

What Is Required (Qualifications)

  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service or call center experience, preferably in medical or healthcare settings
  • Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a problem solver
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately
  • Minimum educational requirement: High School diploma or equivalent (GED)

  • Knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
  • Experience in a fast-paced team environment
  • Continuing education beyond high school is preferred
