Program Analyst
Job Summary This position is located in the DC Department of Corrections (DOC) Program and Case Management Division. The Program Analyst primary responsibility for analyzing current and proposed operating program(s) to evaluate their actual or potential effectiveness in achieving objectives.
Duties And Responsibilities Gathers and organizes information from a variety of sources such as records, computer files, previous studies, and interviews, analyses information to identify issues and isolate problems, develops solutions and measurements of productivity and effectiveness for use by others, develops detailed briefings and reports of findings and recommendations, and convinces others to implement recommendations.
Assignments may involve independent studies to determine the proper organization and structure of the activities of an agency, department, or large office; the conduct of studies to measure and track the progress and accomplishments of a District of Columbia organizational component dedicated to a major assigned organizational function; the planning of a single program to be carried out by various field organizations by identifying, collecting, and analyzing appropriate information, and presenting findings.
Qualifications And Education Specialized Experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, one (1) year of specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.

Working Conditions/Environment The work is performed in a normal office setting. The work area is adequately heated, lighted, and ventilated.
Other Significant Facts Tour of Duty: Monday — Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Promotion Potential: No known potential.
Duration of Appointment: Career Service — Regular Appointment.
Collective Bargaining Unit: This position is not covered under a collective bargaining agreement.
Position Designation: This position is designated as a Safety Sensitive position and is subject to mandatory pre-employment and periodic Criminal Background Checks and Traffic Records Checks (as applicable). This position is also subject to mandatory pre-employment and random Drug and Alcohol Testing. In this position, you may be disqualified from employment based on the presence of marijuana in test results, even if you possess a medical card authorizing the use of medical marijuana.
A TB Test is required prior to entry on duty.
