Job Description:

Client, a global leader in powersports innovation, is seeking a Software QA Engineer to join the Ride Command team. This role blends software quality assurance with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) engineering, contributing to the development of cutting-edge connected rider technologies. You’ll collaborate closely with automation leads to build and maintain HIL systems, execute manual and automated testing, and drive quality across infotainment, cloud, and connectivity platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain QA HIL test systems in collaboration with the GEECS V&Q Test Automation Lead
  • Create and execute robust test cases aligned with system requirements
  • Perform manual and automated testing of infotainment components
  • Analyze system performance and identify bottlenecks
  • Document defects with detailed reproduction steps and severity ratings
  • Configure test benches and support vehicle-based testing (stationary and dynamic)
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to process maturity
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to resolve defects
  • Update and maintain test documentation and logs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering
  • 0-5 years of experience in embedded software or HMI validation
  • Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols (CAN, J1939, UDS)
  • Strong communication and logical reasoning skills
  • Experience with tools such as TestRail, JIRA, CANalyzer, Jenkins, GitHub
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using scopes and multimeters
  • Exposure to object-oriented programming (Python preferred)
  • Experience with version control systems (Git preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive or engineering industry background
  • Experience with real-time test systems (dSPACE, Vector, NI, ETAS)
  • Cloud connectivity testing experience
  • Bluetooth protocol analysis and sniffer tools
  • Mobile app and UI testing experience
  • UAT (User Acceptance Testing) exposure
  • Familiarity with automation tools (Eggplant, CANoe, ASAM XIL, MATLAB/Simulink, FMI)
  • Wire harness design/build experience
