Location: Remote in Los Angeles, or someone in Pacific Time or Mountain Time

About the Role:

Our client, a boutique performance marketing agency with offices in NYC and Charlotte, seeks a Head of Business Development experienced in selling creative services. As the first hire in Los Angeles or Chicago, you’ll be instrumental in driving agency growth by leading sales initiatives, overseeing marketing strategies, and managing key client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Sales:

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities through outbound outreach, account-based marketing, networking, and industry events.

  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to proposal/RFPs, contract negotiation, and closing high-value deals.

  • Set sales targets, forecast revenue, and monitor pipeline metrics for actionable insights.

  • Marketing Strategy & Execution:

  • Plan and oversee cross-channel marketing initiatives to build brand awareness and generate qualified leads.

  • Oversee campaigns across paid search, paid social, display, programmatic, and lifecycle marketing.

  • Collaborate with teams to develop and execute SEO strategies and content marketing initiatives.

  • Client Services & Retention:

  • Ensure seamless transition of closed deals to the client services team, maintaining a positive client experience.

  • Act as a primary point of contact for key accounts, fostering long-term partnerships.

  • Identify opportunities to introduce clients to additional services, increasing overall account value.

Qualifications:

  • 7 years in sales, business development, or marketing leadership roles, preferably within an agency or performance marketing environment.
  • Proven track record of closing high-ticket deals and developing strategic partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing channels: paid search, paid social, display, programmatic, lifecycle marketing, and SEO.
  • Experience with creative direction, including video strategies, direct response advertising, and user-generated content.
  • Proficiency in data analytics, forecasting, and measurement tools.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable insights.
