Team Leader, Operations – 3rd shift

Position Summary
Assist in maintaining the production schedule by directing Production Employees and assisting Production Supervisor with training, scheduling, troubleshooting, safety, and documentation.
Duties
- Provide support over various workstations. This includes but is not limited to; ensure production lines are staffed and running, fill in for employee breaks as needed; troubleshoot minor problems with equipment and parts; provide all tracked information (counts, scrap, etc.); make suggestions regarding employee issues (merit, disciplinary, etc.); make suggestions regarding process improvements/changes.
- Complete Hazard Awareness training and be able to instruct others in same
- Communicate clearly, both verbally and written, with Engineers, Quality personnel, supervisors, and assigned work group
- Ensure assigned work group completes all projects, assignments, and duties as directed and instructed.
- Ensure compliance with all quality standards.
- Promotes a safe work environment at all times, insuring the use of all prescribed safety equipment and observation of all safety rules stated in the Associate Handbook.
- Ensures conformance to all policies, procedures and rules of conduct as communicated through the Associate Handbook, Bulletin Boards, Newsletters and any other vehicle by which information is distributed by STERIS® Management.
- Record production activities on computerized shop floor control system.
- Meet all productivity requirements
- Perform work to meet all required quality specifications

Education Degree
- High School Diploma or GED
Required Experience
Must have ability to stand for long periods of time. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds without assistance
Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must have strong math and troubleshooting proficiency and basic computer skills
Preferred Experience
1-2 years experience in a lead or supervisory role strongly preferred. The following leadership skills are required — taking initiative, initiating change, promoting teamwork, championing ideas, taking appropriate risks, translating ideas into specific tasks, gaining confidence and trust of others.
